Fair Warning .......

After all the kerfuffle having to change over to a new blog earlier on in the year, producing posts has not been as easy or fun as it used to be. Since Live Writer died, the positioning of pictures has become the real bane of my life, so after 15 odd years of pretty consistent blogging I've decided that from January 1st 2025 I shall be going out to pasture! I may still post the odd picture or two as a record of my latest project, but I won't be writing up or photographing any of the process, because, sometimes, that can actually take longer than the making itself. As a blogger, I am now something of a dinosaur, if I were starting out now I'd have my own YouTube channel, but with my Brummie accent, I don't think the world would still ever be quite ready for that! Anyway, with six months to go, there's still plenty of time for a few more projects and ideas so let's see what happens .........

Bertie's Cocktail Bar Shadow Box.

I don't make many cards these days, preferring instead to make a little something that can be kept as a lasting memory.  The memories behind this little tranklement is Bertie's love of making cocktails (non alcoholic of course), when he and Iris come over for a sleepover.

The eight compartment tray came from Temu and cost £2.98, but it really wasn't worth it, as it was no better than the trays you get (free?) with wooden craft shapes
sets, but hey ho!

I started off by cutting silver mirror card to fit each compartment, putting Bertie's Bar using mini, adhesive, scrabble letters (bought at least ten years ago now) in the largest one, adding poker nail art charms (Temu, 57p for a box of at least 100) for a little extra colour and interest, especially as Bertie is currently obsessed by learning and performing card tricks.

The bottles and drinks also came from Temu (various sets and prices) ........

...... with a few more cards and poker shapes to help fill in the spaces.

I then added some self adhesive gingham ribbon round the outside of the tray ...........

...... before finally colouring the divider strips using a red Sharpie pen. Sooooo cute and sooooooo Bertie!
